Oven Types and Pinsa

The best part about Pedone Pinsa? It’s simple, easy, and delicious! This satiating dish is an Italian delicacy that can be created quickly and efficiently. Our hand-pressed, par-baked crusts are engineered to just top and bake. No matter what oven you use, pinsa can be crisped to perfection in minutes!

Traditional Wood-Fired

A wood-fired oven is one of the most authentic Italian methods to perfect your pinsa. Wood-fired ovens are known for their fast-acting oven properties due to their intense heat. Aside from heat and efficiency, roasting a pinsa from inflamed wood creates a unique crisp while also enhancing the flavor profile. Smokey and woodsy undertones are infused into a pinsa when baked into a wood-fired oven, creating a divine flare to your pinsa crust! Maintain the unique texture of pinsa—wood-fired ovens’ high temperature point creates a crust with a crisp outside, yet pillowy-soft inside.

Right to the Rack—Convection and Home Ovens

Rack in the dynamic flavor and crispiness of pinsa in your at-home oven! With convection and typical home ovens (gas or electric), placing a pinsa directly on the rack is the ideal method for the perfect texture. Eliminating a surface underneath a pinsa allows the bottom of the crust to crisp flawlessly while airing out the entirety of the crust. A high temperature (375-450 degrees) is ideal for a pinsa crust to maximize crispiness yet maintain the softness in each bite. Try some of our favorite recipes here

Deck, Impinger, and Pub-Style Ovens

For restaurants, bars, pubs, and industrial kitchens, power and efficiency plays an important role in quickly crisping a pinsa to perfection! Deck ovens are useful for baking multiple pinsas at once due to their number of racks. Optimal for rush hour and large orders, deck ovens can perfectly crisp a pinsa in a short amount of time—maximizing restaurant efficiency.

Impinger ovens are another restaurant kitchen-style method for crisping a pinsa. Their conveyor belt allows the pinsa to be evenly crisped and warmed throughout the whole crust. This is also beneficial when baking pinsas back-to-back during busy hours. Impinger ovens can bring simplicity to a kitchen that may only be run by a single chef. This system provides a slow and controlled method for baking pinsas.

Pub-Style and electric countertop ovens are extremely accessible for smaller establishments or even at-home use. These handy ovens are convenient and small, suiting countertops and small spaces very well. Pinsa’s versatility allows them to be crisped in almost all types of ovens, no matter the size! Although countertop and small electric ovens take slightly longer to crisp due to their power, a delicious pinsa is well worth the wait.
